The Opportunity

Goodman Manufacturing, a member of Daikin Industries is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Maintenance Manager within at our DTTP - Waller, TX location.

The Maintenance Manager position is responsible for leading and managing the maintenance team through coordination of resources and activities for all maintenance functions in the plant. Provides the technical link between maintenance functions and production needs. Implements and drives continuous improvement processes.

May include in addition to;

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians with electrical, mechanical and process knowledge and tool & die shop employees.

  • Budget, direct, manage and control all projects ensuring all schedules and budgets are met.

  • Manage and direct the maintenance functions within the plant with minimum cost and high reliability.

  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure spare parts availability and control of assets.

  • Responsible for procedure implementation for ISO systems.

  • Develop and implement both preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

  • Control the ongoing repair and period maintenance budgets in line with the fiscal plan. Implement cost reductions to offset negative or unplanned variance to the fiscal plan.

  • Development and implementation of maintenance preventative and predictive measures to increase equipment uptime.

  • Determines shift to shift staffing to insure equipment maintenance and project loading is sufficient.

  • Work with MRO supplier to insure critical spares are available when needed.

  • Develop, implement and enhance maintenance CMMS.

  • Work one on one with equipment rebuilders, rigging and transportation companies.

  • Ensure staffing has all safety training necessary to protect themselves and equipment.

  • Development and implementation of procedures and programs to reduce departmental operating cost while effectively reducing downtime.

  • Foster an environment of creativity, participative leadership, mutual respect for all employees within the department and an environment that nurtures a team approach to getting things done.

  • Spend substantial time in the field to see employees at work, condition of the facility, quality of work, provide guidance and report problems.

  • Responsible for performance management, coaching, and preparing corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other support functions.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent leadership skills; able to envision, develop, direct, manage, delegate responsibility, drive results and motivate an organization

  • Proficient in industrial wiring, PLCs, electrical, mechanical, equipment maintenance, pneumatics and technical work.

  • Working knowledge and interpretation of engineering drawings and specs to develop maintenance procedures

  • Skilled in LOTO (Lock out tag out) procedures.

  • Analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills required

  • Effective organizational and time management skills including priority setting – handle multiple projects at a time.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

  • Ability to adjust to operational needs as they arise. Ability to work under pressure and able to make sound decisions.

  • High level of attention to detail and compliance oriented with regulations, policies and procedures including safety.

  • Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization and vendors

  • Working knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word; MS Project is a plus.

  • An understanding of the AFE, Requisition, Purchase Order, and tracking process.

Experience:

  • 12 plus years of experience within a manufacturing environment

  • 5 plus years of leadership/managerial experience

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Technical licenses, Vocational training, and/or Associates degree preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. The manufacturing area has high volume production with forklift traffic. Certain areas may have higher sound levels in which hearing protection is required.
