Maintains and analyzes accounting information for management purposes including developing manual and automated accounting applications based on the need for financial management information. Primary Responsibilities: Prepares, directs, guides and monitors the creation and maintenance of all ledgers, cash and bank registers, subsidiary accounting records, journals, financial statements and various reports according to monthly close schedule Assists independent auditors with interim and year - end financial audits Identify solutions to non standard requests and problems.
Solves moderately complex problems and conducts moderately complex analyses Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues, translating concepts into practice Reviews accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes or directs correcting entries Acts a resource for others with less experience Performs all other related duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (or 10+ years of Accounting Experience in lieu of a degree) Ability to perform mathematical computations and compute ratios / percentages accurately and quickly 4+ years of increasing accounting responsibilities Intermediate level proficiency in Excel Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a healthcare or health plan environment Ability to work with minimal guidance; seeking guidance on only the most complex tasks Knowledge of research techniques for analyzing data and presenting recommendations PeopleSoft experience Careers with WellMed.
