Reg Environmental Coordinator
The Regional Environmental Coordinator reports to the Manager, Environmental Training and T&D Compliance, or to the Manager, Land Environment & Remediation Services.
This position is responsible for implementation and coordination of environmental compliance programs and Company environmental policies and procedures associated within T&D regions (includes Transmission, Distribution, Supply Chain, Fleet Operations, Real Estate and Workplace Services and Telecommunications).
Applicable programs are aboveground and underground storage tanks, transportation of hazardous materials, solid and hazardous waste management, spill prevention control and countermeasures, wastewater, storm water, groundwater and drinking water, oil and chemical spill response and management, air emissions, asbestos, PCB management, pollution prevention, environmental site assessments, emergency planning and community right-to-know management. Key competencies of this position are technical expertise, planning and organization ability, problem solving and initiative..
Coordinate and maintain all environmental activities in the T&D regions to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations and Company policies and procedures. Assist and provide input to Environmental Services on the development of Company environmental policies and procedures.
Provide training, instruction and assistance to employees on the implementation of environmental program requirements, and assist in the development of environmental training materials.
Provide support in the event of an oil or chemical spill including making agency notifications, arranging contractor support, directing cleanup efforts if necessary and completing follow-up reports with regulatory agencies.
Conduct environmental reviews of regional disposal contractors and related facilities, assisting the lead auditor(s).
Promote and enforce (see something, say something, do something) safe work practices to safeguard employees, contractors, the general public, and Company facilities.
Perform and/or oversee environmental site inspections, Phase I or II environmental site assessments and remediation projects, assisting the senior reviewer.
Respond to public inquiries regarding environmental matters. .

Education: Bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences (biology, chemistry, geology, physical science, etc.)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of environmental experience
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license

Ability to coordinate and implement environmental programs, policies and procedures and make sound recommendations and decisions in matters related to environmental operations.
