The Cashier/Merchandising Supervisor, under direction, supervises cashiers, reviews cash receipts, and reviews daily check out reports for completion and accountability of funds, supervises the check-in of general merchandise, directs merchandise floor set-up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews and approves bi-weekly timesheets and leave forms within the department.
Trains full-time and temporary Cashiers to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Processes credit card refunds and prepare funds receipts reports. Updates policies and procedures for the Cashier’s area. Assists Reconciliations Department with clearing reconciling items.
Ensures vaults are secured. Safeguards and secures cash funds. Manages cash in the vault and submits reports. Conducts surprise cash counts for Cashiers and departments. Makes daily bank deposits of funds.
Takes customer payments in person or via telephone. Reviews online payment reports.
Monitors Cashier database applications to ensure staff is responding to messages in a timely manner. Updates message logs with information from customers on a daily basis.
Prepares daily reconciled cash receipt folders for submission to Data Entry.
Oversees the check-in of general merchandise, ensuring all items are properly received, recorded, and priced.
Supervises the display and merchandising of the sales floor. Updates and rotates displays as needed.
Maintain an appealing sales floor-- shelf, arrange, clean, and organize product or space within the store.

Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Three years of related experience in a cash-based environment or other relevant settings.
Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

This position generally supervises employees.
Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
