Job Description

Our Database Administration team consists of highly skilled database administrators with vast experience, which gives great growth opportunity for the successful candidate. This role allows a great work-life balance. We offer a casual and relaxed work environment.

General Description

As a Lead Database Administrator, you will be part of a dynamic global team delivering and supporting technologies to meet the growth needs of the business. You will be involved in database projects that will optimize current services as well as work on building next generation cloud infrastructure for the global production environment. You will collaborate with the Development teams to ensure the designed service is fully operational with streamlined processes and procedures for ongoing support and maintenance.


  • Design, implement and grow distributed databases with complex cross-site data replication topology.

  • Work with product engineering teams to design and optimize databases to ensure data consistency and reliability.

  • Resolve production issues including tuning, optimization and recovery.

  • Perform installation, upgrades, capacity planning, migration across multiple data centers and multiple database server architectures/systems.

  • Proactively monitor and fix databases availability and performance issues.

  • Implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery solution to maximize database availability during planned or unplanned outages.

  • Use/Develop database automation tools to automate repetitive tasks.

  • Respond appropriately to emergency support situations and produce quick and effective solutions to technical problems under high pressure.

Job Requirements


Technology-related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.


Minimum 5 years of experience with Oracle Database, minimum 1 year of experience with any NoSQL database. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Linux system administrator skills

  • Experienced in Oracle RAC

  • Experienced in any of MariaDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL

  • Experienced in any of NoSQL technologies such as Couchbase, MongoDB, Redis or Cassandra

  • Experienced in any of Database Replication technologies, e.g.: Oracle GoldenGate or Data Guard

  • ‪Advanced knowledge of ‪SQL, PL/SQL and any of scripting languages used to automate DB related tasks

  • Database performance tuning and troubleshooting

  • Experienced in managing database objects, including tables, partitions, indexes, views, sequences

  • Experienced in setting up monitoring and alerting for database systems

  • Experienced with Linux system monitoring and analysis

  • Experienced in setting up database cluster, replication, backups, monitoring and SQL tuning.

  • Technology-related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills and experience

  • Self-starter who is excited about learning new technology

  • Exposure to security concepts / best practices

  • Must be willing to work on-call as part of regular work schedule or off hours when required.

  • Nice to have

  • Experienced in managing databases in AWS Cloud (RDS and EC2) with CloudFormation

  • Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager and its repository views

  • Experience in Oracle APEX Application development

  • Knowledge / Experience with storage administration
