ReMed Recovery Care Centers, LLC Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist in Southlake, Texas
Learning Services in Partnership with ReMed's Home and Community division is hiring! A national-leading, post-acute acquired brain injury services company, we are looking for Per-diem Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists to provide intensive rehabilitation therapy services to patients in their homes or local community settings in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area roughly 10-20 hours per week.

The responsibilities for the TR Specialist are as follows:
Effectively coordinates recreational therapy programming; performs evaluation of patient status and develops appropriate intervention strategies.
Performs recreational therapy assessment, documents findings, and submits reports to Clinical Director in a timely fashion. Perform a thorough evaluation, assessing the needs of the patient receiving services, and set measurable objectives that are formulated in conjunction with the rehabilitation team. Adjust treatment to achieve maximum results.
Consult with other members of the rehabilitation home and community team regarding therapeutic recreation goals for program. Coordinate activities with staff/rehabilitation team and participate in Care Plan meetings.
Devises treatment plan utilizing assessment information.
Negotiates appropriate goals for the patient.
Implements care plan, monitors and documents patient response to interventions.
Participates in patient discharge planning and transition into the community.
Provides education and training for the patient, family, and payer as requested by the Clinical Director.
Communicate with community service organizations to initiate resources for recreational programs. Collaborate to outside community recreation/leisure avocation agencies.
Design community and reestablish activities to assist the patient receiving services with their physical and cognitive needs during physical recreational/leisure activity. Assist the patient receiving services in understanding their various needs and limitations and how to manage them during functional activities. Plans and coordinates the appropriate groups.
Candidate will be responsible to apply professional knowledge and skills in accordance with accepted standards of clinical practice, to facilitate problem resolutions, and thereby the achievement, report progress to the home and community rehabilitation team, patient and family members.
Observe/document and report changes in the condition of the patient to the Case Manager / designee, attending physician and other treatment team members as appropriate.
Provide treatment progress and status documentation in accordance with the Plan of Care.
Attend, participate in staff training and program development in areas related to recreational therapy. Provides formal / informal staff instruction in recreational therapy related areas.
Obtain continuing education as required by Learning Service policy and regulations. Maintain and enhance clinical practice skills.
Perform other duties as assigned in response to the patient and/or program needs
Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
Completes recreational therapy evaluations, progress notes, home assessments, and discharge recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
Develops and implements creative, goal directed programs in recreational related areas.

The following requirements are needed for the TR Specialist:
Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
Recreation Therapist Certified (RTC)
Two years of experience in Acute or Post-Acute Rehab preferred.
Physical abilities necessary for physical transport, transfer and management of patients.
Reliable transportation and current auto insurance to transport the patient as necessary to achieve program goals.
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
Agrees with the overall goals, objectives and methodologies of the program and Learning Services
Current CPR certification.
The candidate must successfully complete any/all required pre-employment competency test(s) per Learning Services in Partnership with ReMed's policy in each assigned area of practice.
Good organizational are needed.
Ability to function with minimum supervision.
