Discovery Senior Living is hiring a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator for our community Discovery Village at Southlake.

As the Administrator you will plan and direct all day-to-day functions of the Skilled Nursing in accordance with applicable company, federal, state, and local standards to promote that the highest degree of quality care is provided to its residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, develops and leads the overall operation of Skilled Nursing in accordance with federal, state and local laws.

  • Prior to move-in, coordinates the health care needs with the Director of Health & Wellness.

  • Communicates regularly with families and physicians as appropriate.

  • Assists with the development of the Skilled Nursing’s organizational structure and articulates the roles of department heads within that structure.

  • Interprets the Skilled Nursing facilities’ standards and guidelines to Team Members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as required and ensures they are followed.

  • Represents the Skilled Nursing facility both internally and to the public including governmental agencies, third party payers, and the general population. Works harmoniously with the community’s other department managers concerning level of care transitions and general communication as well as all other interactions that promote an efficient and effective overall community operation.

  • Assists with the development and administration of the Skilled Nursing’s overall budget process such that accurate forecasting of expenses and cost control result. Ensures that adequate financial records and reports are prepared and submitted to the Executive Director as required.

  • Ensures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

  • Abides by established policies including maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.

  • Develops a thorough working knowledge of current and evolving state laws and regulations, policies and procedures dictated for residents and ensures compliance.

  • Attends in-service training and department meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinate supervisors who oversee additional Team Members in the Skilled Nursing community. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator and meet the requirements for a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator.

  • Previous experience in supervising a retirement community or long-term care facility.
