Job Description SummaryReporting to the Sr. Manager EDI Operations, the Team Lead is responsible for managing a team of EDI Specialists in resolving customer EDI ordering issues to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. The Team Leader Must have superior organizational and multi-tasking skills and a broad knowledge of business processes. Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with both internal and external technical and non-technical groups and have demonstrated presentation and documentation skills. Candidate should be self-motivating and able to work independently while sharing knowledge and mentoring other team members. Insures all departmental objectives, metrics and measures are achieved.

Job Description

The EDI Operations team is responsible for driving automation through the implementation of EDI transactions and interacting with technical and business process areas to ensure EDI needs are met. The Team Leader supports this team by ensuring all business processes and metrics are met on a daily basis. The Team Leader is also responsible for identifying root cause of the items the team is working and taking the necessary steps to reduce this work. The Team Leader is also responsible for coaching and mentoring the team to meet the current and future needs of the organization. This role will also work in conjunction with a team of EDI Analysts to help promote growth and adoption of EDI for the organization.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Day to day supervision of assigned team, ensure schedule adherence, order accuracy, service and quality interactions and that all department measurements are met. Ensures that team members, under direct supervision, follow established procedures, practices and policies for Department and for the Quality System. Ensure adherence to regulatory (SOX, ISO, FDA, cMDR, etc.), business and department guidelines, policies, and procedures. 50%

  • Using data and associate/customer feedback identify opportunities and implement programs to increase EDI touchless order capabilities.25%

  • Develop associates through coaching, mentoring and direct feedback to ensure talent and associate development meet current and future organization needs. 15%

  • Assist the EDI Operations team with testing and implementation of new EDI solutions to increase the Customer Experience. 10%

Scope of Responsibility

  • Working with internal and external customers to increase EDI touchless ordering while meeting all established metrics and KPI’s.

Sphere of Influence

  • This position is responsible for complex and business critical issues and projects which are generally associated with our key accounts and key operational goals.

  • This position supports all Business Units within North America.

Examples of internal (BD) contacts:

  • All functions of North America Supply Chain (Distribution, Transportation, Order Fulfillment, Compliance and Continuous Improvement), various IT teams , US Regional Commercial Operations, Sales Leadership and Customer Care.

Examples of external (outside of BD) contacts :

  • External Customers, Global Healthcare Exchange, Suppliers and other EDI services providers.

I mpact on Business Results

  • Ensure EDI orders are fixed and released in alignment with SLA’s to ensure no customer or BD operations impact.

Financial Impact

  • Managing work in alignment to department and corporate policies and procedures

  • Escalating items to management that may have a negative impact to our internal and external customers

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of supply chain practices in a manufacturing environment.

  • A general understanding on EDI documents and processes

Skills

  • Applicants should be familiar with SAP Sales fulfillment, SAP BI reports and have a basic knowledge of EDI documents and processes. Must have keen attention to detail, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and demonstrate leadership skills.

Education/Degree

  • BS Degree

  • Certifications (if applicable)

Experience

  • The qualified candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 2+ years of supervisory experience and 2+ year of SAP experience.

  • For people management position, indicate years of experience required

  • 2+ years leadership experience in planning, developing, organizing, directing, managing, and evaluating personnel

  • 2+ years of Supervisory/Leadership experience

  • Other: Identify the minimal level of other competencies required for the position.

  • Green Belt certification is preferred

  • Project Management certification is preferred

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI preferred

  • 10% Travel
