POSITION PURPOSE:

Hostway is seeking a Solutions Architect to become an integral member of the Enterprise Sales Team. The Solutions Architect will provide pre-sales technical support to our Enterprise Sales team and is responsible for designing private and hybrid cloud solutions, managed hosting solutions, and dedicated server solutions for small, midmarket and enterprise customers leveraging Hostway’s existing and emerging product portfolios. The Solutions Architect is also responsible for designing solutions that can be effectively implemented and properly sustained by Hostway’s service delivery organization to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain technical expertise in Hostway’s product portfolio including private and hybrid cloud, managed hosting, and dedicated server product portfolios and well as interoperability with external partner services.

  • Participate in technical discussions with prospects, customers, and partners to gather requirements that aid in the design of technical solutions.

  • Provide technical demonstrations, presentations and guided walk-throughs of Hostway’s service portfolios and service features.

  • Assist in the development of customer proposals and responding to RFP/RFI’s.

  • Provide pre-sales support to inside and outside sales executives and account managers.

  • Interface with Hostway’s Onboarding and Service Delivery teams to ensure each solution designed can be effectively implemented and properly sustained.

  • Participate in and sometimes lead product training for sales executives and partner representatives.

Requirements

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4- 6 years’ experience in a pre-sales technical role for a cloud service provider, managed hosting provider or provider of internet or software based services/solutions.

  • Previous Experience with Advanced Networking and Managed Security offerings.

  • Degree in engineering, information technology, computer science or related studies preferred.

  • Excellent customer interaction skills, presentation skills, and demonstration skills.

  • Demonstrable technical skills, especially in cloud computing, hosted applications, storage solutions, backup solutions, networking, integration/development technologies, and IT outsourcing.

  • Experience with server, storage and network virtualization is highly desirable; especially Microsoft Hyper- V, Zen, VMware or other leading virtualization providers.

  • Working knowledge of common IT systems & packaged applications such as Windows & Linux Servers, messaging applications, file systems, directory systems, and other related technologies.

  • Collaborative, team oriented working culture – desire to make a significant contribution and able to work effectively under deadlines and in pressure situations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong knowledge in AWS and Azure cloud solutions from a design/usage perspective

  • A solid understanding of DevOps and cloud deployment methodologies
