Kforce Senior Mortgage Processor in San Antonio, Texas

Kforce has a client that is looking for a sharp and experienced Senior Mortgage Processor to join the growing team of an established financial institution in San Antonio, TX. Summary:The Senior Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for completing all tasks and responsibilities associated with processing all types of mortgage loan applications in accordance with established processes, procedures, policies, and state/federal regulations. The candidate pre-underwrites files for assurance of accuracy, quality and compliance prior to submitting files to an underwriter or closer. They must meet established performance benchmarks.Key Tasks:

  • Verifies accuracy of all information provided by member, including income, assets, credit and employment

  • Reviews appraisal to calculate loan to value and to ensure value supports the loan amount requested

  • Reviews title commitment for vesting and engages Title Company to address and resolve title issues in a timely manner

  • Ensures files are processed in accordance with state/federal regulations governing mortgage loan origination

  • Processes multiple product lines to include conventional, jumbo, VA, FHA, land, construction loans, home equity, and HELOC loans

  • Completes any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization's Values

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of three (3) years of mortgage processing or underwriting experience with the most current knowledge of Conventional, VA, and FHA guidelines

  • Must receive and maintain registration as required by the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act). Microsoft Office and loan processing systems

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision

  • Independent judgment in resolving routine loan issues and confers with an Underwriter and/or member of Mortgage Management as deemed necessary on complex non-routine loans

  • Able to work in a high-volume environment

  • Able to function in a high-volume environment and within time constraints while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Able to work independently and work flexible hours as needed, including possible weekends

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Well versed in secondary market, private mortgage insurance, VA, FHA, and state/federal regulations governing mortgage origination

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state and NCUA regulations

  • Able to take responsibility and perform work utilizing independent judgment and initiative
