As part of the multi-disciplinary team, the Physical Therapist will provide medical diagnostic and therapeutic care and service, referring consultations for specialty care, and education and preventive care advice to all patients served. The performance will be tracked and comparatively reported using metrics related to the strategic direction and operational needs of the organization.
Physical Therapists (PTs) help individuals maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and functioning to enable optimum performance, health, and quality of life. This is achieved through evaluation, examination, and utilization of exercises, rehabilitative procedure, massage, manipulations and physical agents including, but not limited to mechanical devise, heat, cold, air, light, water, electricity and sound in the aid of treatment. PTs also assist in developing standards for physical therapy practice and developing health care policy related to this practice.
Performance and documentation of the initial physical therapy examination and patient evaluation
Interpretation of practitioner's referral
Defines, develops, and implements written plan of care for patients, and updates the plan of care as needed to meet the patient's on-going needs
Responsible for physical therapy care performed under his/her supervision; delegating tasks to appropriate personnel
Ensures timely and accurate reporting of patient documentation
Communicates patient progress toward goals with referring healthcare provider and appropriate team members to ensure continuity of care
Provides patient education on applicable therapeutic issues
Performs and documents patient re-examinations and re-evaluations and modifies plans of care as appropriate, to reflect changes in patient condition and therapy needs
Ensures therapy equipment and facilities are safe for patient and staff use, including but not limited to, proper use, periodic safety checks, cleaning, and decontamination
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence of regulatory requirements and advising management on relevant needed actions
Complies with billing, coding, and documentation guidelines in accordance with applicable company, state, and federal guidelines
Provides excellent customer service
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Active, unrestricted State-issued Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state in which they practice
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist curriculum in a 3-year Doctorate level program approve by the State in which services are provided
Graduate of an accredited university curriculum in a Bachelor college level program approved by the State in which services are provided
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to perform treatments appropriate for a PT in compliance with the State Board in which services are provided
Current BLS Certification
Proficiency in dry needling
Experience in chronic pain physical therapy
This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease.
You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role
Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
Experience with InterX/H wave
Bilingual in English and Spanish
One to two years' experience as a practicing Licensed Physical Therapist
