Vertex Solutions Instructional Design Lead in San Antonio, Texas

Vertex Solutions is looking for a Chief of Curriculum Design / Instructional Design Lead with a minimum of 5 years leadership and minimum of 10 years building training programs and implementing them successfully.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Chief of Curriculum Design / Instructional Design Lead – (AETC/A5) The candidate selected will provide leadership to instructional designers in implementing learning programs, design learning content from complex ideas, identify technical and communication requirements for new training programs. Capability to communicate well and work in inclusive environment to keep project on task and partners informed is an expectation.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Degree in Education Technology/Management

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct detailed needs, learner and performance gap analysis to drive innovations.

  • Be a strategic partner to e-learning, Instructor-Led Pilot Training and consulting teams by collaborating on opportunities.

  • Design learning content from complex ideas that are credible, relevant and engaging.

  • Manage team of approx. 8 instructional designers

  • Provide technical learning support for on-site operations across AETC in support of Pilot Training Transformation

  • Plan, develop and maintain project course documentation including guides, manuals, etc.

  • Coordinate all logistics/requirements with government for implementation within government spaces

  • Create training evaluations, performance assessments and course review feedback loops for all involved.

  • Identify technical and communication requirements

  • Manage customer relationships and expectations

  • Attend progress meetings with government stakeholders, site managers, and Vertex senior management, taking appropriate actions when necessary

  • Work with site managers to maintain an effective quality assurance program and standardization within the program

  • Provide excellent customer service to contractors, partners, government agencies etc. to resolve issues and ensure client satisfaction

  • In depth and up to date knowledge of education/learning technology hardware and software

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely status of project, future steps and needs

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills to assess needs and recommend solutions

  • Ability to create products with extremely high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to interact with team members and stakeholders in a problem-solving, constructive manner

  • Ability to successfully manage and meet multiple, simultaneous project deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently

  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and customer service focused

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office environment.

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop and kneel. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to ten pounds as needed. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full time, exempt position.

Travel:

10% travel is anticipated for this position. Main travel locations include AETC UPT locations as directed.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. Background checks – criminal, civil, employment, and education required. Drug screening in compliance with drug free workplace standards. Must be eligible for SECRET security clearance.
