USAA Corporate Responsibility Director in San Antonio, Texas
Purpose of Job
This position will be located in the San Antonio One Riverwalk location or will be available to work remotely (100% Remote Work Environment).
The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Director oversees corporate citizenship programs and initiatives that enable USAA to lead and inspire actions that improve lives in the military and local community. Leads multiple highly complex/high visibility enterprise programs or strategy focus areas. Drives significant, measurable societal impact in relation to defined CR goals and objectives; creates logic models for designated CR strategy areas and expertly demonstrates how desired outcomes and key results are measured in CR alliance performance dashboard and reporting. Oversees the assessment of programs, grants, and nonprofit activities to ensure compliance, manages risk, and conducts appropriate due diligence to ensure nonprofit alliances (grantees) meet defined requirements. Leads purposeful collaboration with enterprise partners and operates within defined CR governance process and protocol; navigates the organization with expertise and high degree of credibility with key stakeholders. Cultivates and manages relationships with key local, national community and nonprofit organizations to reinforce USAA's brand and proactively build reputation. As an integrated part of the USAA Brand team, this individual serves as a CR subject matter expert and contributes to the development and coordination of enterprise-wide communications plans and tactics.

The CR Director oversees a philanthropic investment budget, strategic functional leadership, core process design and prioritization methodology, engages with a CR advisory group, manages the CR alliance lifecycle, develops Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with key local and national nonprofit organizations, contributes to a high-performance CR team and is accountable for achieving results related to their designated CR strategy area(s).

Accountable for achieving results related to multiple highly complex/high visibility designated CR strategy area(s) or enterprise program. Develops measurement metrics and standards to evaluate impact and effectiveness of CR investments and operations. Cultivates and manages relationships with key local, national community and non-profit organizations to reinforce USAA's brand and proactively build reputation. Skillfully drives difficult and constructive conversations. Develops Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with key third parties. Ensures routine and effective communication is maintained with key contacts to foster highly productive relationships. In partnership with CR engagement lead, develops and/or coordinates enterprise-wide communications. Leverages technology and social media as tools to strengthen enterprise CR engagement.
Accountable for and expertly manages a philanthropic investment or assigned budget and resources related to their designated CR strategy area(s) or program; achieves results through self-prioritization. Works across enterprise to lead, establish, and revise Corporate Responsibility policies.
Leads purposeful collaboration with enterprise partners and operates within defined CR governance process and protocol; navigates the organization with expertise and high degree of credibility with key stakeholders.
Contributes to a high-performance CR team and is accountable for achieving results related to departmental goals and objectives; expertly demonstrates how their decision making and execution is measured in CR performance dashboard and reporting.
Leads Disciplined Execution or process improvement initiatives with measurable improvements in efficiency and/or effectiveness. Owns and proactively manages risk and compliance of assigned process. Takes lead in AARs for key initiatives and applies learnings to ensure continuous improvement.
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility or a related field required OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
8 or more years of Business Development, Product Development, Business Operations or Philanthropic Leadership, or related experience, and accountability for complex tasks and/or projects required.
Proven track record of translating an organizational vision to reality, business acumen and process excellence.
Experience managing third-party relationships that are accountable for results and producing high-quality outcomes
Subject-matter-expert knowledge of the function/discipline and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products required.
Subject-matter-expert level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.

Current or prior Military Service or Military Spouse
2+ years of Charitable Giving Foundation or Corporate Social Responsibility experience in a corporate environment with direct experience developing and implementing CSR programs
Experience with nonprofit organizations, particularly those that serve the military and local community. San Antonio, TX community experience a plus.
SAFE Agile Certification or Equivalent
Experience developing processes and plans in response to BCC (Being a Compliant Company) requirements.
Black Belt certification
