Job Description

Under general directions, this position will provide leadership and supervision to a team of transfer admissions counselors/recruiters, aiding in the implementation of recruitment efforts and on-campus events. In addition, this position serves as the primary contact fro graduate students and will assist in supporting general graduate recruitment efforts, as directed by the academic colleges. Responsible for follow up with inquiries/applicants and provides preliminary evaluations of transfer credit for incoming undergraduate transfer students. Represents the university at recruitment events.This position typically works Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. May be required to work beyond normal office hours to include evenings, weekends, and peak times. Travel is required. Must have valid Driver's License or ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment.


  • Trains new admissions counselors in the Office of Admissions. Assists the Director of Admissions in providing leadership and supervision to the admissions counselor team

  • Counsels prospective undergraduate students on all aspects of the admissions and transfer process.

  • Coordinates and implements the recruitment plan including scheduling and reporting on recruitment visits. Plans and executes recruitment event programming off-campus.

  • Maintains high level of knowledge of Banner and Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) to communicate and enter all prospective student information, acts as troubleshooter for admissions counseling staff.

  • Performs preliminary degree evaluations of transfer credit for incoming transfer students.

  • Follows directives regarding strategic planning and recruitment strategies.

  • Represents the university at high school visits, community college visits, military installations, transfer fairs, college fairs, and other college recruiting events.

  • Assists the Director in monitoring target markets and university enrollment and produces reports for the admissions counseling staff.

  • Works collaboratively with on-campus partners in order to further the mission of the Office of Admissions. This includes collaborating with academic departments at both the undergraduate and graduate level to promote academic programs by coordinating program specific recruitment events, financial assistance/admissions application workshops, and military student recruitment programming to increase new student enrollment.

  • Assists the Director in developing and implementing effective communication processes with prospective students, applicants, and parents. Follows the established communication process.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field and six years of related experience.


  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Knowledge of College fair programs

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's license or ability to obtain one within first 30 days of employment.
