This analyst provides analytical support for employee benefit programs. In addition to maintaining and analyzing various types of benefits information, the person in this position gathers data, participates in the analysis of employee benefits issues and trends, and conducts and participates in benefits surveys.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Analyze and develop policies and benefit plans covering accident and health insurance coverage, retirement and pension plans, income continuance, holidays and vacations.
Analyze equity of current benefits compared to trends and legislated requirements and present recommendations for change or enhancements to management.
Monitor, analyze and research utilization experience and trends on assigned benefit programs, including utilization patterns, cost trends and comparative studies.
Identify and investigate abnormal patterns, compile information and prepare operational and financial reports and analyses of assigned plans.
Mediate problems between employees and assigned plan by working with providers and third party administrators.
Conduct or participate in meetings to describe, explain and respond to questions concerning various benefits programs.
Investigate problem areas through the application of statistical analyses on claim and payroll data in concert with other departments as needed.
Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 1 year related experience.
Proficient functional knowledge of assigned benefits plans. A good working knowledge of HRIS systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office. Must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to utilize and recognize ways to improve workflow efficiency and increase productivity.
