Position overview

This position entry-level Mechanical Engineer. Participates in product development activities, executes tests, and produces parts, designs, or sketches, following all appropriate Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.

Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.

Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.

Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects.

Produce parts, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.

Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.

Knowledge of materials and structural concepts.

Ability to use 3D CAD. Use of Solidworks or Siemens NX is a plus.

Ability to perform engineering analysis, both structural and thermal. Familiarity with ANSYS

(Mechanical/CFD++/Fluent)

or other mechanical analysis software is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

OR

In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security

clearance. Candidate

selected will be subject to a government security

investigation/reinstatement

and must meet eligibility requirements
