Job Description

This position is responsible for providing management leadership, vision, and direction to the university’s comprehensive Office of Undergraduate Admissions Processing Operations, which includes assistance with processing of College of Nursing and Graduate Admissions.


  • Develop Undergraduate and Graduate admissions organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to the strategic planning committee; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives. Also, establishes admissions operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements for productivity, quality customer-service and designing customer-service related systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems and implementing solutions.

  • Develop admissions strategies through forecasting, anticipating requirements, trends, variances; and aligning monetary resources; also develops action plans; measure and analyze results; initiate corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.

  • Collect, maintain and analyze statistical data on high school student profiles and community colleges to improve enrollment yield rates and increase the academic indicators of admitted and enrolled students; review and make recommendations to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services regarding admissions standards for First-Year, Freshmen, Transfer Students and Graduate Students.

  • Maintain a continuous flow of quality first time applicants to the university by analyzing enrollment trends, instituting successful marketing activities; modifying programs and presenting new strategies for university recruitment and admission, maximizing recruiting and admissions processing by using state-of-the-art computer technology, supervising the development, implementation and future enhancements of the Banner Information System, Recruiter, Banner Data Management System (BDMS) Upgrade.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the requirements of the MOUs of high schools and deliverables of community colleges adhere to the admission standards. Also supports the development, enhancement and updating of current and new articulation agreements with community colleges aimed at increasing the number of transfer students admitted and enrolled in the university; supports the development and implementation of dual enrollment programs with local high schools collaborate with high school district counselors, community college counselors, parents and alumni in disseminating changes to the admission process and notification of increased admissions standards.

  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local regulations, demographics and employment trends to determine impact on admission to the university, also serve on and actively participate in Enrollment Recruitment Team activities. Cross-train staff to participate in open houses, new student orientation, Panther Camp Preview Transfer Days, Scholarship Receptions and other special recruitment events; effectively communicate and collaborate with on-campus stakeholders concerning admissions policies and regulations. Also, evaluate professional and voluntarily staff work performance based on data driven outcomes.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field

  • Ten years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree

  • Competence, demonstrated knowledge, Higher Education and Admissions experience in a variety of Higher Education institutions such as private, public, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to implement a recruitment plan and demonstrate commitment to diversity.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), supervisory experience, training desirable, and service on a variety of campus and system committees.
