L3 Advanced Systems & Technology has an opening for a Sr. RF Engineer. This position will be responsible for the design, simulation, development, and testing of RF circuits, antenna systems or systems for use in Radar systems or other tactical military applications.

Major Responsibilities/Activities Statements:

  • Primarily responsible for electrical design tasks including requirements analysis, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, circuit simulation, schematic capture, and board layout.

  • Technical management responsibility for the development of subcontractor developed RF and microwave subsystems.

  • Schedule, cost, and technical responsibility at the board or subsystem level

  • RF & Microwave (VHF through Ka) design synthesis at the board or subsystem level

  • Simulate, Breadboard, Test and Troubleshoot RF circuits and functions

  • Develop test plans and procedures for RF subsystems

  • Perform test and evaluation of RF boards subsystems, and systems

  • Design, Code and Test board level performance test software

  • Participate in peer reviews, preliminary design reviews, critical design reviews and other required design reviews

  • Participate in interdisciplinary design teams and reviews

  • Learn and follow company processes for product development, configuration management, purchasing, etc.

  • Direct less experienced engineers as part of a design team

  • Cost and Schedule responsibility at the subsystem or board level.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Required Experience:

  • 7 - 10 years of broadly based design, implementation, modeling and test experience with RF circuits and systems

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of RF Simulation and Modeling, Schematic Capture, Board Layout CAD tools

  • Working knowledge of practical RF system considerations such as path loss calculation, cascade noise figure, intercept point and power and corresponding tests for each

  • Working knowledge of basic RF test equipment including Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, and Signal Generator

  • Working knowledge of appropriate board materials and general board layout techniques

  • Working knowledge of RF/Microwave circuit layout techniques with board level design experience in the RF or Microwave bands

  • Working knowledge of basic Radar performance concepts

  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.

  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)

Other Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain any additional clearances as required

Desired:

  • Existing DoD clearance with current 5-year update

  • Receiver architecture design and simulation

  • PLL and Synthesizer Design

  • Working knowledge of RF and radar signal processing

  • Working knowledge of 3D EM field simulation tools.

  • Active RF component design

  • Experience with a variety of design tools including VSS, MWO, DxDesigner, PADS

  • Experience with LabView, MatLab and Python

Educational Requirements: Physical Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields (statistics, applied math, or computational neuroscience)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
