Merchant Services – VP, Marketing – Product Marketing Manager

Merchant Services is one of the fastest growing businesses within Chase and payments is the intersection of our cross line-of-business strategies. Merchant Services is one of three Chase products targeting small-medium businesses (SMB) segment within the Chase for Business set of products. We are combining the value of Business Banking, Ink credit card and Merchant Services to ensure that small business owners believe that Chase is THE bank for business. The Product Marketing Manager will report to the Head of Small Business Marketing, Merchant Services and will be integral to the achievement of aggressive growth goals for the Merchant Services SMB segment as well as Chase for Business. The successful candidate will develop and execute marketing strategies for both Merchant Services (as a product within the Chase for Business) as well as for specific products and services offered by Merchant Services that reinforces Chase’s position as a leading payments/financial services provider for SMBs. They will commercialize value story messaging across within the Chase for Business family, with internal teams (business development, relationship managers, bankers and field strategy), as well as with clients through a range of breakthrough and impactful client-facing marketing assets such as a range of digital content and collateral. This role will collaborate with their counterpart in Canada to create more synergy across SMB North America. Success in the role will be tied to SMB growth; greater awareness, consideration and adoption of Chase Merchant Services across our products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/refine a differentiated Chase Merchant Services value story grounded in small business owner needs (e.g., by vertical, tenure, size and growth trajectory) and Chase benefits and capabilities

  • Develop breakthrough product marketing for point of sale (POS) payment products (mobile reader, terminals and tablet POS) – for new product launches and product upgrades, as well as a clear upgrade path for clients as they grow.

  • Guide Market Research team in the development of data driven insights to identify opportunities and inform positioning, messaging and marketing asset creation

  • Prioritize focus of Market Intelligence team to ensure a robust understanding of competitor products and messaging; tailor Chase Merchant Services marketing to feature compelling and differentiated positioning and messaging

  • Develop / maintain master document on our positioning and messaging and framework; align with channel marketers to ensure proper integration of value proposition into campaign messaging

  • Partner closely with / heavily influence Product Strategy and the product development roadmap

  • Guide the Product Commercialization strategy (as a primary stakeholder) and lead the Marketing launch of new products, features and benefits – guiding channel marketers, the field teams (sales and relationship managers) servicing, and cross-line of business partners on product marketing strategy

  • Create toolkits and enablement materials for sales and marketing, ensuring all are equipped to sell Merchant Services as a solution and specific product offerings

  • Track and measure engagement with product marketing assets; tie back to business impact and demonstrate return on investment

Qualifications:

  • Robust product marketing experience preferably in FinTech or consumer technology

  • Experience developing clear and compelling value propositions for both physical products and services; ability to simplify messaging for maximum impact

  • Experience developing breakthrough marketing assets to commercialize value proposition with client-facing stakeholders

  • Experience executing marketing strategies within digital marketing with direct response efforts and field teams (sales and relationship managers)

  • Effective agency/vendor management for maximum value and delivery of high quality deliverables

  • Highly curious with proven creative problem solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement; strong customer/client-centric focus as default lens

  • Ability to think strategically (big picture) and connect the dots to individual tactics; desire to "roll up your sleeves" and “own” projects - manage the details of project execution
