We offer an innovative culture where training is a priority, hard work is praised and career growth is a reality.National Vision is looking for manufacturing workers to join our growing team at our optical lab in Plano, TX.i We're seekingicandidates for Lead positions in various departments.iii1st shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Monday-Friday)2nd shift: 4:30 pm - 1:00 am (Sunday-Thursday)General Summary: Leads are expert associates who are responsible for proficiently performing all of the various tasks within the assigned department and are capable of exceeding expectations at all stations within the department.Leads also assist the Supervisor with training, cross training and development of associates within the department, training new associates according to direction from the department Supervisor, conduct professional improvement plans with direction from the Supervisor and work with the Supervisor to review and improve performance andienvironment of theidepartment.i iPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:Our team Leads perform various specific functions based on the department including:Surface:Backside Coating, Blocking, Generating, Lens Washing, Polishing, Tool pulling, Fining, Taping, Beveling, Block prep, Pad Peeling, Deblocking.Bench:Edging, Safety Bevel, Insert lens into frames, Inspection, Hand Bevel, Safety Stamp, Sort trays, UV and Tint.iStockroom:Process orders through the stockroom and ensure items needed for orders are sent to the correct departments within the lab.Print orders from DVI, edit for errors, sort lenses and match jobs to correct trays.Pick frames and lenses by locating bin number on Rx, scan barcodes.Take lensesiout ofimanufacturer's box and trays correctly.iiPre-inspects lenses for visual imperfections and sends defects back to manufacturer.Receives all lenses into inventory, inventory periodically, load new frames into DVI, distribute frame cases to stores, research order failures, add lenses and frames to inventory for cancelled orders, match invoices to trays, process lens breakage through DVI.AR:Ensure jobs move smoothly within and from the department.Ensure lenses within the department are properly coated according to invoice.Read invoices for AR requirements and where tray needs sent after AR.Visually pre-inspect lenses, load into sectors and machines, properly place chemicals and lift sectors from machines.Download lenses back to trays, matching paperwork, properly clean and dry lenses.i Visually inspect lenses to ensure ANSI standards are met.Operates AR Coating Machine.Separate jobs between receiving departments.i Ensure associates stay on task and are in the proper place for optimal workflow.Position Requirements:No specific education level required.At least 1 year of direct or related experience required.Must be able to read and write English.What are the Benefits?
