J.P. Morgan Custody & Fund Services (CFS) - global leader with $22 trillion in assets under custody, provides Institutional investors access to markets worldwide for the settlement, safekeeping and asset servicing of securities, along with ancillary services such as Foreign Exchange and Liquidity Solutions. The CFS business is comprised of Custody, Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office outsourcing, Foreign Exchange, and other activities related to servicing assets for traditional and alternative funds; it leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 100 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of investor services as well as securities clearance, collateral management and alternative investment services.
The CFS Operations Change team is embarking on a strategically important global, multi-year programme to improve Operational STP, efficiency and automation. Central to this programme will be the delivery of an E2E strategic data transformation agenda for the Billing function. A key enabler of the Billing agenda will be the appointment of strong and experienced Project Manager with deep Billing expertise to develop key program assets, execute on core transformation deliverables to a high degree of quality, and shape the longer-term change landscape for the Billing function.
Key responsibilities include
Defining the scope and approach for the Billing data transformation agenda and securing buy in from senior stakeholders
Developing robust Business Case to support and inform the change deliveries
Owning and coordinating the development of key program assets and collateral (including project initiation documentation, milestone plans, risk logs) for senior audiences
Project Management of key change deliverables and co-ordination of resources to ensure deliveries are timely, complete and of high quality. Sample deliverables could include:
Current State Analysis - including End to End Process Flows
Target State Operating Model Definition
Data Lineage Mapping - from source, through to fee-patterns, rate cards and invoicing
Managing relationships and building strong partnerships with a range of stakeholders within and beyond the Billing function
Analysis of large Billing data sets to extrapolate and apply key trends / quantitative evidence
Application of best-practice techniques and methodologies to project management
Completion of regular project-level status reporting
Escalation and articulation of key risks / issues to Senior Management
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving and have excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate should have a strong track record of delivery high-quality and complex projects, on time and to a high degree of quality. Experience within a Billing function, and with complex data lineage / data transformation exercises is required. Exposure to financial services change management is also desirable. The individual should be confident in dealing with staff at all levels, with a “can-do” personality to ensure issues get resolved and a strong sense of ownership.
