SAP North America Regional S/4HANA Finance COE is responsible for demand generation and sales support for revenues for SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions for organizations in North America. These solutions cover the business needs of Chief Finance Officers (CFOs) and other senior finance executives at our customers.

We’re seeking a leader for a new team of business development representatives (BDRs) to expand our footprint through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships within the office of Finance. Our goal is to reach our sales targets faster and action the leads that are coming into the business from sales and marketing.

The manager will be responsible for building & training a new team as well as manage a national team to syndicate best practices programs, tools, and tactics and develop, lead, and mentor the virtual sales community for these solutions.

Secondly, the employee is responsible for presenting the business value of the SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions including:

  • Accounting, Financial Close & Task Management

  • Treasury & Cash Management

  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Billing & Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM)

  • Tax Compliance

  • Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Create and lead a North America team of Business Development Representatives with the primary responsibility of actioning existing leads sourced from sales and marketing teams, and develop relationships in new territories to create pipeline and drive sales.

  • Ensure the team is delivering a top-level client experience from introduction, needs assessment, and delivery.

  • Guide the team to balance their time between getting to know a prospect’s business triggers & how our solutions can apply to their business and addressing the volume of leads to be actioned. Make the math work without sacrificing content.

  • Develop and measure the key performance targets for the team. Apply an approach of continuous learning: fail fast, learn and adjust daily actions to drive success

  • Create, administer, and implement the business development strategies and tactics for SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions for on-premise & cloud deployments

  • Capture prospect and market needs and trends and consult with executive leadership and internal teams for solution development.

  • Provide functional leadership and drive organizational accountability by reviewing major account plans, monitoring, managing the sales pipeline, and tracking progress against plans.

  • Engage directly with senior executives at both prospects & customers to drive sales of SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions for both on-premise & cloud deployments

  • Meet regularly with SAP sales management to drive development of new business strategies based on market analysis & current trends in the Office of Finance & Risk

  • Business plan development, documentation, and communication to the 6 market units in North America

  • Present / demonstrate SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions capabilities, value proposition, key differentiators at senior executive levels and large audiences

  • Make use of best practices to create repeatable processes and content.

Work Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Proven experience leading a virtual team

  • Proven experience creating a business development (or equivalent) sales team

  • 10 years of professional experience with large, multi-national software/IT organizations and with a demonstrated expertise in finance software solutions

  • Ability to synthesize data driven analytics and insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Strong project leadership skills, with ability to prioritize and deliver on concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact.

  • Experience with business development, relationship building, opportunity discovery/development, opportunity qualification, pipeline development by working with solutions team

  • Self-starter, "Execution spirit" and entrepreneurial nature with a passion for new products and solutions; high level of energy and self-motivated

  • Strong organizational talents and ability to work under pressure and in new environments

  • Exceptional organizational, communication and presentation skills, and ability to express nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely to meet goals and set priorities

  • Strong finance acumen


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field of study

  • MBA preferred

  • Fluency in English, any other language an asset
