Freese and Nichols is seeking an Engineering Project Manager with a strong technical background in Water/Wastewater Master Planning and Hydraulic Modeling in the Houston, TX area. We offer a collaborative environment and opportunity for growth. The ideal candidate will have experience with hydraulic modeling for municipal water/wastewater systems and GIS.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and develop studies for municipal clients including water and wastewater planning and modeling, asset management, and financial studies (such as water and wastewater impact fee and rate studies)

  • Provide technical guidance to project team members

  • Engage FNI technical experts (master planning, funding, design, treatment, etc.) to support client needs

  • Work with utilities to solve complex issues and develop capital improvement plans

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

  • Modeling and planning support for water and wastewater utility design projects

  • Polished professional communication in technical writing and verbal presentation skills

  • Client development, sales/marketing, proposal development

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Minimum Required Licenses/Certifications: Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to become licensed in Texas within 6 months.

  • Minimum Required Experience: 5+ years of modeling and/or master planning experience in the water/wastewater sector

  • Expertise with hydraulic modeling software, such as Innovyze products (InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM SE, InfoSewer, InfoSWMM, H2OSURGE, InfoAsset Planner) or Bentley products (SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, Hammer)

  • Familiarity with GIS applications in water and wastewater planning

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
