Navitas Midstream Partners Lead Plant Operator in Midland, Texas
Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Lead Plant Operator provides oversight and direction to a Plant Operator team. This team will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of natural gas treating and processing plants, compressors and pipeline systems via both computer control center and onsite operations.
Operators are responsible for pipeline equipment including, but not limited to: chilled water gas conditioning skids, reciprocating natural gas compressors, dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, gas measurement equipment, etc.
Act as a mentor/leader in assisting Plant Operators in more complex situations.
Assist with training and development of the Plant Operator team.
Works closely with the Plant Supervisor with the oversight and direction of the team and their initiatives.
Oversee Start-up/Shutdown of plant equipment.
Provide daily oversight to the Plant Operator team with their daily activities to include:
Adjust controls to operate equipment in the recommended or prescribed operating ranges.
Visually inspect equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication. Perform minor maintenance on equipment including, but not limited to: reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, etc.
Read, monitor and record various operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, hours of operations, fuel consumed, water levels, etc.
De-pressure equipment and pipelines.
Monitor plant and pipeline operations and respond to emergency or upset conditions.
Operate under Process Safety Management (PSM) as required.
Monitor gas gathering system through SCADA and make calls to alert customers of situations that could affect gas deliveries.
Ensure regulatory compliance and record keeping requirements are met and continually monitored.

High School diploma or equivalent
Strong mechanical aptitude
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Plant Operator in midstream gas plant operations
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lead Operator or in some type of Lead/Supervisory capacity
Available for call- outs 24 hours/7 days a week.
Live within a 45 mile radius
Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
Basic computer skills.
Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues.
Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.
Perform basic mathematical calculations
Demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment to the role, team and company.
Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., and apply up to 100 foot pounds of torque.
