This position is responsible for providing support for the exploration and development geologic staff. The individual is typically assigned to a play team / area. The role requires interaction with Geology, Geophysics, Drilling, and Completions personnel. Duties and Responsibilities * Save data to drives and Load LAS and calibrate rasters for newly drilled wells * Data Search/Research (TGS.com, File Room, Logging Companies) * Supervise/Monitor Log purchases and facilitate renewal agreements * Digitize structure contours, log data with Neuralog, and convert PDF deviations and core data to spreadsheets for all disciplines (Nuance PDF Suite) * Kingdom Geology, PETRA and PETREL daily maintenance and troubleshooting * Entering Hollingsworth Report data to projects * Act as liaison between Geology department and EP-Tech group in Houston * Continuous updates to Drilling Reports with rigs and well spud dates KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION: * Minimum of an Associate's Degree is required * Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering is preferred EXPERIENCE: * A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant E&P company experience, as a Geoscience Technician * Experience working effectively in integrated teams with the ability to interact effectively with geoscientists and drilling, operations, and reservoir engineers * The candidate should have strong geoscience workstation and software skills, including experience and proficiency with commercial geoscience software, including Kingdom Geology, Petra, Petrel, and GeoGraphix. * Strong skills with Excel is also desired. * Must be able to work under pressure and provide input in short project time lines PRIMARY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES (TECHNICAL & LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES): * An aptitude for integration of subsurface data is a key component of the job. * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written - able to work well with field personnel, geoscience team, peers, management and stakeholders * High degree of initiative and independent judgment * Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information is essential * Excellent project management skills.
