Extended Job Title:
Supports the program director by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating both the academic and operational activities of the program.
Up to 25%
Serve as the representative and point of contact of the University Career Center in the execution of in-person and virtual events.
Plan collaboratively with the University Career Center staff to create an annual calendar of events that maximizes potential impact and benefits in critical areas of employment recruitment in order to meet events and Career Center goals and objectives.
Collaborate with colleagues in the University Career Center and delegate event tasks as appropriate and other departments on campus to develop new events.
Develop productive working relationships with campus and community resources, counterparts on other TTU campuses, and other constituencies.
Provide leadership and direction in the execution of high-quality career fairs, career development events, and programs that advance employment priorities related to new, continuing, and graduating students, and high-profile employer relations.
Provide leadership and direction in the planning and execution of events for employment recruitment, employer cultivation and recognition, and ensure that Texas Tech University continues to meet employers’ recruiting goals.
Prepare pre- and post-event analysis, and assess opportunities to make recommendations for improving service to internal and external constituencies, and implement those improvements as appropriate.
Prepare, manage, and monitor event budgets, anticipating costs of production, technical, promotional needs, and overseeing the purchase of supplies and equipment for events.
Responsible for keeping an accurate and current list of career fair and event registrants/attendees and judicious fiscal billing for all
Responsible for the promotion of Career Center events, career fairs, webinars, and info sessions through the creation and distribution of a weekly newsletter to the TTU student body as well as content and images for other departmental newsletters.
Serve as the Career Center representative to Texas Tech Parent and Family Relations.
Minimum Hire Rate:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Event Design; Restaurant, Hotel, & Institutional Management; Communications; Hospitality; Marketing; Public Relations; Business; etc.
Several years experience with event planning, event promotion, managing multiple events simultaneously, information technology
Ability to multi-task.

Serve as support and back-up for the front desk area as needed.
Lead special projects and assist with other University Career Center tasks as requested.
