Austin Industries HSE Corporate Technician in La Porte, Texas
Austin Industrial, Inc. is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround, specialty, and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing industries. We are currently seeking an experienced HSE Corporate Technician. Under the direction of the HSE Program Manager, the HSE Corporate Technician will be responsible for assisting in coordination of regulatory compliance with multiple entities along with the maintenance of HSE programs and statistical information. The HSE Corporate Technician will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the HSE team. Successful candidate will be able to complete projects timely and in coordination with other team members as required; follows up on all work with weekly update of tasks.
This position will be based in our La Porte, TX corporate office.
Coordinate and assist the Director with the contract review process.
May greet scheduled visitors and direct to appropriate area or person.
Assist in maintenance and coordination of HSE Programs (IH, BBS, Drug & Alcohol, DOT, Austin CARE, BI Dashboard, Workers Comp, etc.)
Assist with maintenance of online Auditing programs (ISN, PICS, PEC, XNET, BROWZ, etc.)
Assist with maintenance of overall HSE training programs (52 week, site specific, etc.)
Assist in maintenance of safety policies and procedures.
Coordinate and assist with maintenance of company abatement licensing.
Prepare and maintain job site safety performance reports and summaries.
Draft monthly, quarterly and annual HSE performance reports for each job site and company.
Independently prepare and submit all regulatory reports to Director for review and distribution. (MSHA, OSHA, EPA, state and local)
Compose, edit and/or proof corporate safety communications.
Maintain inventory of HSE supplies (stickers, cards, hand books, manuals, etc. for all jobs sites.)
Assist with coordination of PPE ordering, distribution, and overall program maintenance.
Distribute/sort/prepare incoming and outgoing mail.
Process administrative items (i.e. expense reports, supply requisitions, travel, safety surveys etc.).
Perform additional assignments as directed.
Minimum of two years HSE administration experience preferred.
Proficiency in all Microsoft applications; i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Familiar with Health, Safety and Environmental practices, procedures required.
Basic knowledge of scribing and preparing meeting minutes.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Self-directed, poised, and project a professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times is critical.
Proficiency with standard office equipment, e.g. copier, fax, printer, scanner.
Minimum keyboard skills of 50 wpm.
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
