Mechanical Engineer

job summary:

A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Keller, TX area. This job involves the application of scientific and technological principles encompassed in mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design used for the design, production, operation, and use of machinery of all types.

responsibilities:

• Applies advanced technical application of engineering theories, concepts, principles and techniques.

• Leads contributions to the development of new principles and concepts.

• Works on unusually complex and potentially broad reaching technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.

• Works under consultative direction towards pre-determined long range goals and objectives.

• Work is checked through consultation and agreement.

• Serves as an organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs.

• Acts as a senior advisor to management on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Experience:

• Experience with design of automation and material handling systems.

• Good knowledge of mechanical engineering theory i.e. trained to perform approximate analysis by hand.

• Good spatial intuition.

• Experience designing in Solidworks, specifically working with and structuring large assemblies.

• Use of a PDM system, especially WindChill.

• Mechanical detailing in Solidworks.

• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to ASME Y14.5:2009. Sizing or working with suppliers to select off-the-shelf components such as motors, bearings etc.

Desirable:

• Design of weldments.

• BS Minimum

Experience:

• 15+ Years
