Job Overview

The database analyst position requires the individual to be capable of working independently as well as operating in a team environment, with a willingness to follow predefined IT policies to satisfy our clients.Also, the ability to understand clients’ needs and suggest solutions and help clients meet their deadlines. The job involves maintaining and analyzing the integrity, security and availability of multiple databases. Core responsibilities include disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning and database maintenance.

Qualifications

A self-motivated, client centric highly experienced SAP ASE & IQ DBA with extensive exposure in the following areas:

  • Sybase IQ 15/16 administration and maintenance with strongknowledge of Simplex & Multiplex setup.

  • Plan, install and manage new and existing IQ environments.

  • Develop automation scripts to improve platform efficiency.

  • Sybase ASE migrations.

  • A strong knowledge of Sybase ASE replication server technologies(warm standby, MSA, peer to peer and object level replication) encompassingsetup and troubleshooting.

  • Strong experience in Performance tuning activities

  • Extensive hands-on experience in Database migrations acrossvarious OS platforms like Linux, AIX and Solaris.

  • Interacting with and providing optimum solutions to clients on awide array of products like Sybase IQ, Sybase Replication Server etc.

  • Assist clients in the design, test, implementation, maintenanceand control of physical and relational databases

  • Collaborate with Vendors, Engineering and designers on proceduresrelated to new or existing databases.

  • Candidate must be a team player and able to work in a"continuous deployment"/dynamic environment with a strong focus onefficiency.

  • Proven analytical skills coupled with strong communicationtechniques.
