Amec Foster Wheeler Senior Project Manager in Houston, Texas


Wood Automation & Control is currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager to join our team in either Houston or Deer Park, Texas.

This is an opportunity to take the lead management role on interesting and important projects under a variety of diverse clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute technology solutions for our control, safety and information systems projects in the Oil & Gas and Process industries

  • Manage all aspects of the project, from Front End Engineering & Design (FEED) through Detailed Design, Commissioning and Start-Up

  • Lead lead multi-discipline, project engineering and/or project management roles on a wide variety of process projects

  • Manage and conduct controls studies as needed

  • Preparation of commercial and technical proposals and reports

  • Direction and training of junior controls project management and engineering staff

  • Develop and maintain client relationships

  • Follow and take a pro-active role in corporate health safety and environmental programs

  • Provide excellent practical client service with a commitment to technical excellence

  • Collaborate with other Wood offices and controls engineering staff on projects

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Well organized, with a sound knowledge of project management principals, rock mechanics, geomorphology, engineering geology, hydrogeology and interested in technical and personal advancement.

  • A minimum of 20 years experience in automation design and implementation projects for onshore or offshore oil & gas facilities

  • A minimum of 15 years experience in project management execution and direction

Strong technical and project management skills

  • Working knowledge of Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, Triconex and/or other systems

  • Demonstrated project scope, schedule, quality and cost management experience

  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to motivate and guide cross functional project teams

  • Knowledge and active use of Pacesetter

  • Excellent workplace safety practices

  • Desire to provide excellent practical client service and a passion for technical excellence

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication (English) skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal tactfully and effectively with teammates

  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to a variety of project sites

  • Excellent computer and technical writing

  • In addition to technical expertise and competencies, you are enthusiastic, resourceful, organized, and detail oriented. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues

  • Legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis
