JPMorgan Chase Senior Java Developer - CIB Index Tech in Houston, Texas

This exciting role is part of JPMorgan's Index Research Technology team and you will be a key team member in application design, development and support for all internal/external clients. In this role you'll recruit and lead a diverse, talented development team, empowered and accountable for building mission-critical solutions used by the business on a day-to-day basis to generate revenue for the firm. This includes new web-based applications that are being transformed to use modern frameworks and CI/CD processes, as well as large-scale data platforms built on J2EE technologies. You will have an opportunity to show your engineering talent, creative thinking, and leadership skills to drive key development projects from initiation through to delivery. You will also have an opportunity to experiment with new technologies, and execute on the firm's Cloud adoption strategy.

Skills required to be considered for this role:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Java development experience

  • Database experience (Oracle, Sybase, or SQL)

Preferred Skills:

  • Object-oriented design and coding practices / Design Patterns

  • Work experience on application development in financial institutions

  • Perl/Unix scripting experience

  • Excellent problem solving / investigation abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good project and time-management skills

  • Knowledge of Scala/SPARK/HBASE/Parquet/Kafka/Big Data technologies

  • Certification in Cloud-based technologies, Cloud adoption experience

  • Prior experience in Financial Services industry

  • M.S degree in Computer Science or related field

  • HTML5/ReactJS, extensive experience in modern, Agile-driven Web UI development
