Amec Foster Wheeler Senior Financial Analyst in Houston, Texas

Wood is currently searching for a Senior Financial Analyst to support our STS Technology & Consulting business team in Houston, TX. This is a challenging role, which provides high quality reports and support to business lines in the US and Brazil.   • Produce a Consolidated Monthly Financial report pack which provides robust commentary to all variances across the Technology & Consulting service lines in US & Brazil.

  • Support the business by producing a variety of reports and analysis. Such reporting will include, Project reporting and Gross Margin Analysis, detailed backlog analysis, billability analysis and bridges, direct and indirect project reports and other KPI’s that may develop over time.

  • Responsible for the preparation and consolidation of all budgeting and forecasting for Technology & Consulting – U.S. and Brazil. This will involve working across the service lines and supporting Service Line Leads, often translating their business strategies into financial terms.

  • Contribute to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.

  • Support the client bid process, providing costing information and input into sales pricing. Further provide input on financial terms obtaining input from commercial and contracts where appropriate.

  • Work with Operations identifying trigger points where tax input is needed and work with our colleagues in tax to find the most compliant and cost effective solution.

  • Ensure accounting systems are updated / compliant with external reporting requirements or find off system solutions to ensure compliance with Local GAAP.

  • Complete FRSA / QSC documents on time, aiming for zero defects each quarter.

  • Identify profit generating initiatives and opportunities that improve financial outcomes.

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related area; CPA or related accreditation highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years or relevant professional accounting experience in industry; public accounting experience an asset.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting (F&A, month end, and budget) with the ability to analyse problems/issues and identify solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems; experience with Oracle an asset.

  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills, with the ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with function heads and regional finance community.

  • Strong ethical values and ability to communicate with openness and honesty; willing to question and challenge when needed.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver on time.

  • Willingness to develop and take on new reporting tasks or analyses.
