Senior Cost Control Specialist
KBR is seeking a Senior Cost Control Specialist for the Science & Space Business Unit. The Senior Cost Control Specialist will support NASA contracts and will be primarily responsible for Program Planning and Control. The Senior Cost Control Specialist will perform all aspects of Earned Value Management in compliance with the current EIA 748 standard, conduct analysis and provide advice regarding EVM tools and principles, & assist with planning and execution of the Integrated Baseline Review (IBR).
Provide program plans to ensure contractual requirements and statement of work deliverables are captured and scheduled
Development and control of the Performance Measurement Baseline
Incorporate contractual changes into program established control systems
Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), perform maintenance, and charge number control
Produce monthly Contract Performance Reports (CPR) Formats 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
Incorporate sub-divisional or subcontract data into a collective Contract Performance Report (CPR) or Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR)
Implement and document Baseline Change Requests (BCRs)
Monitor/schedule milestones to facilitate estimates to complete and process scope changes
Analyze cost trends to correct errors and provide forward guidance to maximize revenue and profit and minimize cost variances
Prepare and deliver customer report deliverables per the contract terms and conditions
Prepare forecasts using program resource estimates with appropriately applied rates and factors
Assist the team with monthly Estimate to Complete (ETC) updates
Develop price/cost estimates utilizing established pricing concepts and applications
Apply FAR, CAS, and government accounting standards
Perform moderately complex accounting and analytical tasks, including transaction processing, account reconciliation and analysis
Track program funding requirements and subcontractor costs & fee
Track, trend, forecast and analyze subcontractor and vendor invoices
Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems independently
Develop and carry out long- and short-term objectives and balance multiple priorities
Assist in developing presentations and reports for internal and external customers
Create and maintain internal process documentation and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
This position will report directly to the Cost Control Manager
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
4 + years related experience
In lieu of formal education 12 + years of related experience
Knowledge of basic program management concepts (budgets, estimate to complete, project schedules, etc.)
Experience with Earned Value Management
COBRA or other MPM tools
Monthly contractor financial management reporting
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Familiarity with standard government agency reporting requirements (NASA, DOD)
Proficient with Costpoint, COGNOS systems, or other EVMS reporting engine
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills.
