The Center of Excellence Category Management Process Lead will have responsibility for the sourcing and category management activities across all Cornerstone Building Brands.The position will report into Cornerstone’s Center of Excellence for Supply Chain and Procurement, supporting the evolution of the function, as a whole.
Primary responsibilities will include: developing and executing best in class sourcing processes, aligning functional and business unit leadership on core objectives, develop a holistic supplier relationship management program, support functional leadership in the creation of policies, standard processes, and other methods to align across Cornerstone.Support technology improvements through best practices, data analytics, data management, reporting, and P2P optimization.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Ability to work with stakeholders e.g. engineering, manufacturing, finance to gather all KPIs for the acquisition of goods and related services
Lead sourcing projects in indirect area for all Cornerstone such as technology, marketing, facilities management, and plant service categories
Understand a broad host of direct and indirect categories, aware of similarities and differences within the process between the two areas
Identify opportunities and characterize as long-term and quick impact.Work closely with the SVP of Supply Chain & EVP of Operations to drive solutions from a business capability, operations, and process standpoint.
Ability to map processes and lead their improvements and train others on the same
Gather market intelligence regarding qualified suppliers within the target regions and solicit preliminary suppliers
Evaluate suppliers’ ability to deliver products in their respective end-markets, bandwidth and technical capability
Manage complex processes across the enterprise
Coordinate multi-function teams as both a leader and doer
Intimate understanding of the entire sourcing process from beginning to end to lead sourcing projects and create standard documents on how others will follow the process
Help design methods to better identify and leverage enterprise wide sourcing and procurement opportunities
Work with functional leadership to foster a path towards increasing Cornerstone’s speed to savings
Draft RFP, review with sourcing team, and conduct the RFP with qualified suppliers
Collect product pricing from qualified suppliers, validate pricing, and generate an understanding of costs
Conduct a professional sourcing evaluation through to provider selection, including contracting
Work with all groups to deliver a contracting process that sets up the business for successful category management
Drive continuous improvementprogress and documentation
Share successes across all Cornerstone to maximize opportunity

Project Management Skills – To ability to gain acceptance of changes and facilitate implementing those changes with stakeholders. Setting expectations and managing those to completion.
Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing – Must know our current processes, who are the contacts for different areas of the business, and how we as a shared service strive to deliver solutions to our stakeholders
Project Management – the ability to manage many activities at once while leveraging the ability to combine as people and process allow
The ideal candidate will have an energetic and engaging personality. She/he must be self motivated and solutions oriented, with a strong intellect. Without question, the successful candidate must possess the highest level of integrity, loyalty to the team and trustworthiness.
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related business discipline.
Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Supply Chain and Sourcing
Minimum 5 years of operational excellence
CPSM and/or APICs certifications a plus
Charismatic and credible communicator who leads by example.
Strong team player who can build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal.
Comprehensive planning skills coupled with a high capacity to learn and the ability to think tactically and strategically.
Strong analytical skills (including process analysis and interpretation skills).
