Job ID #: 1299 Location: Houston, TX Functional Area: Associate Department: Planning & Controls-Corp Position Type: Full-Time Regular Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Experience Required: 3 - 5 Years Relocation Provided: Position Description The Planning & Controls Associate will support the Planning & Controls Director in the preparation and analyses of financial reports for the execution of the company s strategic plans. Main accountabilities: Analyze financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes Identify and implement financial performance improvement opportunities within the company Design and implement a process for controlling the financial impact of the derivatives, contracted by EDPR NA to hedge market exposure Create and implement a monthly process to reconcile the SAP local accounts with the consolidated accounts reported in Magnitude Evaluate the financial and operational performance of the wind and solar projects in operation, comparing it versus the assumptions considered in the investment approval Analyze in detail the structure of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables balances and propose measures in order to optimize the working capital of the company Support the budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes Participate in developing and implementing process improvements related with the financial reporting Prepare presentations to the Executive Team and Senior Management Additional duties as required Direct reports: None Position Requirements Minimum qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field 4 5 years of experience in a financial planning & controls area, preferably at a renewable energy company Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Experience in SAP is a plus Behavioral requirements: Excellent analytical and data-handling skills Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills Ability to be self-motivated Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to work well both independently and as part of an interdependent team Physical demands & working conditions: Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
