ManpowerGroup Maintenance Mechanic - Electrical and PLC in Houston, Texas
JOB SUMMARY
This role supports Factory needs in regards to all electrical/mechanical, PLC control equipment, R&D Projects, and Electrical Control Systems to achieve plan and improve on process efficiency and performance. Support and actively manage troubleshooting and preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment availability, reduce unplanned stoppages, reduce energy and water usage.
DESCRIPTION (RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES)
Trouble shoots and diagnoses cause of electronic or mechanical malfunctions using knowledge, manuals, SOPs, specifications and other workplace aids
PLC Control programmer will program and modify new and existing PLC programs
Resolves and repairs all system faults and anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems, including changes, adjustments, and modifications to control code and standard operating parameters.
Writes and debug PLC Logic and make recommendations for major corrective actions
Troubleshoot problems dealing with plant instrumentation and automation equipment to include but not limited to: valves; pressure; temperature; level, flow, conductivity, speed, force instruments; motor controls; PLC's, HMI's, etc.
Calibrate/validate plant instruments to include but not limited to: valves; pressure, temperature, level, flow, pH, conductivity, weight, force and speed instruments;
Work together with co-workers and other department personnel
Participate in TPM pillar activities and own pillar systems with success
Train and coach co-workers on TPM methodology
Obtain drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files or other sources. Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., as necessary.
Examines jobs to be done and determine scope and best way to accomplish the work. Consults with requester, maintenance planner, and/or Supervisor when necessary.
Communicates directly with equipment suppliers, contractors and vendors as necessary
Development of applications using Human Machine Interfaces
Ability to integrate PLC-based code into information gathering systems
Working Knowledge of Ethernet/DeviceNet/DH+/ControlNet/Remote I/O Systems
Perform maintenance tasks to include - repairing, planning, coordinating, and improving, from minor rebuilds to major overhauls on all equipment.
Identify processing efficiency improvement opportunities and manage improvement projects
Identify processing waste reduction opportunities and manage waste reduction projects
Streamline preventative maintenance program to help reduce costs of operations through PM optimization.
Support equipment installations, retrofits and upgrades to include organizing vendors and contractors
Will actively support NCE through SLC DOR meetings, DER meetings, GSTD's - DMAIC projects and Debriefs or shift handoffs
Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to -Production support - Mechanical Room-Water Processing-Boiler Room-Waste Water Treatment-Water Chemical Treatment Program
REQUIREMENTS
Five or more years proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Intermediate working knowledge level of PLC programming and automation
Prior experience with high and low pressure compressors, chillers, water treatment, boilers is required.
Strong technical knowledge of compressed air systems (pneumatics), electrical systems, hydraulics and water processing
Ability to perform basic machining with the use of lathe and vertical mill
