Operates numerically controlled machines, lathes, drills, or other machine tools to fabricate parts. Builds and/or modifies equipment in accordance to established specifications to meet specific project requirements. Repairs and/or modifies existing and new scientific equipment in accordance with established specifications and procedures. Assembles or assists in the assembly of experimental apparatus according to engineering instructions and technical manuals. Performs basic electric and gas welding operations. Assists in the maintenance of parts and supply inventory and in the ordering of materials. Assists in record keeping, to include schematics, mechanical drawings, documentary photographs, and sketches. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Must have 2 years college (tech or vocational school) Must have 2 years experience Candidate must pass background check.
