ExxonMobil IT Project Manager (PM) in Houston, Texas

Job Role Summary

The IT Project Manager role located in Houston, Texas will support the delivery of Upstream IT solutions including initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific project goals and meet specific success criteria within specified time and costs.

Primary Job Functions

  • Planning and executing complex IT projects within the Upstream Oil and Gas industry

  • Develop technical definition, scope, project plans and gate packages

  • Assist the Business case for action and benefits case

  • Successful execution of project activities per schedule

  • Successful scope management

  • Overall responsibility for the quality and satisfaction of the final product

  • Project deliverables

  • Responsible for required project deliverables at each stage in the project lifecycle (e.g., test plans, startup plan)

  • Ensure required endorsements are obtained for each stage (e.g. Architecture, Law, etc)

  • Represent the Project during the internal Milestone Review processes

  • Develop IT Change Management plans (incl. technical Training) as required

  • Ensure documentation is developed and maintained

  • Project team leadership

  • Ensure Project is staffed with the proper resources (employee and contract, IT and Business)

  • Ensure extended teams are engaged as needed (e.g., Business, Procurement, Controllers, etc…)

  • Establish positive working relationship with Business Venture Manager and other Business seconded resources

  • Ensure issues are dealt with promptly and fairly with full transparency to the Business Stakeholders

  • Directly manage project staff during project lifecycle

  • Stakeholder management

  • Gain alignment within IT and other project stakeholders regarding all deliverables

  • Represent the project via Stakeholder and Governance review

  • Gain IT management commitment for implementation plans and long term support model

  • Financial management

  • Responsible for overall financial stewardship of the project

  • Ensure Project invoices are paid on time and booked properly

Job Requirements

  • Methodology Skills : · PMI / SDLC (or other formal PM Lifecycle methodology) · EMCAPS (if prior experience within ExxonMobil) · Agile / SCRUM / Kanban · UCD / UX · Automated Testing Other Skills : · Initiative / Self Starter · Organization / Execution skills · Communications (effective verbal and written skills) · Leadership / Teambuilding demonstrated across functions (IT and Business)· Interpersonal / Teamwork / Collaboration (especially working across a global, multi-cultural organization)· Financial understanding · Decision Making / Conflict resolution · Analytical thinking Relevant Experience Requirements : o Minimum of 5 years experience in ITo Minimum of 3 years experience in IT Project Management· Other Relevant Experience: o Direct experience implementing a range of Business and Technical applications in the Oil and Gas industryo Implementation of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutionso Experience connecting SaaS offerings with existing “on prem” toolso Vendor management from contract negotiations through executiono Extended experience with infrastructure including network, server and databaseo Upstream Oil & Gas industry experience
