Gyrodata Helpdesk Administrator II in Houston, Texas

Job Function / Purpose

  • Provide technical support and training to Gyrodata, Inc. users, create IT documentation and maintain IT asset records

Essential Duties

  • Provide support for office and field computers

  • Install and configure most current Windows software applications

  • Configuration of smart phone and tablet devices

  • Comply with global software licensing requirements

  • Coordinate the purchasing of IT equipment from third party vendors

  • Coordinate the repair of IT equipment with service repair centers

  • Manage the environmentally safe disposal of old computer equipment

  • Provide training to users on Gyrodata, Inc. bespoke software and third party software

  • Provide training to users on the telecommunications device

  • Coordinate and support all mobile/satellite phone communication needs

  • Coordinate and support applicable quality, health and/or safety IT documentation

  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills

  • Use skills and experience to improve and innovate IT Department projects

HSE Function

  • Comply with applicable safety standards and maintain a safe working environment

QA Function

  • Comply with applicable quality assurance standards

Required Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral English communication skills

  • High School Diploma, GED or regional equivalent

  • 3-6 years of related work experience

  • Experience supporting remote users

  • Knowledge of most current version of Windows

  • Knowledge of most current version of Active Directory

  • Experience working with O365 Services

  • Experience of PowerShell Scripting

  • Knowledge of Apple iOS devices

  • Knowledge of Android devices

  • Knowledge of cloud services (Azure/AWS)

  • Ability to work with limited supervision

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Ability to work during non-office hours and weekends as necessary

  • Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending e-mail, opening and revising documents, accessing internet and web-based Gyrodata, Inc. systems, including SharePoint, Agresso and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate?s Degree in MIS or equivalent

  • Strong written and oral Spanish communication skills

Working Conditions

  • The job is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards. The job requires some physical exertion, including sitting, standing, occasional light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others and ability to meet deadlines. The job requires following established policies and procedures, meeting quality and safety standards and regular attendance.
