Powell Industries, Inc. Facilities Maintenance Technician 1530 in Houston, Texas

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, light electrical, painting, sheetrock, plumbing, and HVAC)

    • Assists maintenance technicians and other workers

    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED

    • 2-4 years' experience in a facilities maintenance group

    • Ability to use shop equipment: such as sanders, drill press, forklift, and scissor lift

    • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality System preferred

    • Ability to work safely by following policies and procedures in an industrial environment

    • Effective communication skills are required; Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal

    *Able to work alone and in a team environment

Working Conditions

*Temperature controlled warehouse and manufacturing plant, outside activities are required will be exposed to hot & cold weather climate conditions

Physical Requirements

*Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs

*Bending at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time, up to an entire shift.

  • Experience with PCs and Windows software.

  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
