The Midland office of Golder Associates Inc. is looking for a qualified candidate to fill an Environmental Engineer position with a focus on the oil and gas sector.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technicalsupport on a variety of environmental compliance, regulatory permitting, siteremediation, and emergency spill response projects.

  • Subsurfaceinvestigations including drilling, geologic/geotechnical logging, andenvironmental media sampling.

  • Performenvironmental investigations, collect environmental data, prepare technicalreports and maps, and complete permit applications along with other regulatorydocuments.

  • Assist with andprepare SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, Phase I ESAs, and other environmental plans anddocuments involving air quality, water management, and waste management.

  • Gain increasingresponsibility with project tasks through training provided by Golder and byworking with senior staff and management.

  • Interacting withsenior Golder staff to meet task, schedule, and budget requirements is a key tosuccess in this position.

  • Regulatory reviewand research will be required, along with determining regulatory applicabilityto processes and problems.

  • Datainterpretation and evaluation.

  • Performingengineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and report preparation.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum bachelor’sdegree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Resources, Geology, orsimilar scientific/engineering disciplines.

  • Minimum of 1-5years in the environmental consulting industry.

  • Experience with GISand AutoCAD is preferred.

  • Field and/orconstruction experience is required.

  • Generalunderstanding of the state and federal environmental regulatory structure.

  • Excellent writingskills and proficiency with Microsoft products.

  • Experience withwetlands and ecology is a plus, but not required.

  • Expected to havestrong skills in mathematics, data analyses, data interpretation, and technicalwriting.

  • Must be capableof effectively representing themselves in a professional setting and mustpossess good communication skills.

  • Candidate must beself-motivated with the ability to interact with colleagues while arriving atsolutions to complex project problems.

  • Experience withoil and gas projects, including pipelines, is preferred.

  • Travel in the US,including travel for extended assignments, is required.

  • Report writing andfield & construction documentation skills are required.

  • The ability tocommunicate constructively with contractors, owners, and senior Golder personnelis essential.

  • Current OSHA10-hour and 40-hour HAZWOPER certifications preferred.

  • Relocation is not available for this position.
