The End-Use Marketing Development Manager will build solid relationships, drive business growth and effectively position P&SP as an industry leader.
Key responsibilities include:
- MARKETING INSIGHTS & STRATEGY *
Develop a comprehensive understanding of market unmet needs and trends within the packaging value chain and effectively communicate those insights back to the regional Marketing Management Teams (MMT) to help influence business strategies.
- RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT *
Build, nurture and manage relationships with key decision makers at brand owners, retailers, OEMs, value chain partners in North America to identify and deliver against specific packaging opportunities that are profitable and prioritized across all parties. Frequent engagement is expected across multiple contacts in order to develop strong relationships that ultimately creates demand generation, a preference for Dow’s materials and technologies in new and improved packaging designs/formats. Close coordination with account teams for key accounts where we are trying to enhance business relationships; being an active part of the account team.
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT *
Effectively drive specific projects by achieving internal alignment with regional marketing and business priorities, external commitment from the brand owner decision makers and appropriate engagement with converter customers in partnership with Dow account teams. All projects are managed in partnership with our Technical Service & Development organization. This will require the creation and management of project charters (resources, financials, objectives, timeline, etc.), and driving a portfolio of projects to commercialization that result in new and/or improved packages on the shelf.
- TEAM LEADERSHIP *
Participate on Dow commercial management teams to ensure alignment of value chain and business development strategy, efforts and opportunities as well as articulating market trends and unmet needs.
Education Qualifications: *
Bachelor's Degree required
8 or more years of industry experience in customer facing roles including but not limited to sales, marketing, technical service, brand management, etc.
Previous marketing and/or industry relevant experience required (e.g. consumer goods, retailer, packaging, plastics industry etc.)
Experience in developing value-in-use / cost modeling analysis throughout a value chain
Experience in working with sustainable packaging network on either developing brands or technologies to enhance positioning of sustainable packaging solutions
Strong interpersonal skills are critical to developing relationships with brand owners and effectively driving project collaborations with all participants (e.g. brand owners, converters, design firms, etc.) as well as effectively collaborating internally (e.g. - market segment teams, internal partners - TS&D, R&D, NBD, Sustainability, Sales, etc.)
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
MBA / Packaging Engineer / Sustainability experience
Business acumen, critical thinking capabilities, innovation mindset and project management skill
Ability to deal with ambiguity and think strategically
Ability to effectively prioritize project pipeline to maximize utilization of resources and improve probability of success
Ability to identify and drive business opportunities that are aligned with market needs and Dow business/regional priorities to deliver business results - including influencing and negotiating capabilities
Identify and remove obstacles (e.g., ineffective policies, procedures) which interfere with rapid creation of new business opportunities, commercialization of applications through building and leveraging Dow network and broader external network of Pack Studios
Be highly flexible, responding quickly and confidently to unanticipated marketplace changes
Uses knowledge and experience to identify market needs, trends, and issues and to develop long-term value creating solutions for Dow Packaging.
Seeks to thoroughly understand the customer's business environment, needs and value chain participation
Proactively identifies new areas for value creation and clearly defines them in business development or business plans.
Travel estimated at 25-50%
