OEC Group Customer Service Manager - Freight Forwarding in Houston, Texas

As one of the largest freight forwarders in the US, OEC Group services many clients with the help of our exemplary customer service representatives. Now, we need a Customer Service Manager to help lead our team to produce the best possible results. The right individual has experience in a supervisory role as well as advanced knowledge of freight forwarding and logistics operations. This role will be responsible for managing customer service operations in the Houston area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing a team of customer service representatives

  • Ensuring representatives are up to date on all current industry related news and regulations

  • Preparing reports on productivity metrics for all reps

  • Identifying areas and improvement and generating solutions for new challenges.

  • Work with sales managers to close accounts by providing insights into OEC operations

  • Provide support to larger accounts where needed

  • Liaison with other customer service managers in the region to develop SOP and other procedures

  • Perform various office management/administrative support duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years in a freight forwarding customer service role with 2-3 years in a supervisory role

  • Bachelor?s degree preferred but not required

  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of freight forwarding including ocean imports, customs brokerage, trucking/logistics, rail transport, and warehousing

  • Travel required <20% of time
