Overview & Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a senior accountant for our Bank Reconciliations team who will perform a variety of routine technical and transactional accounting work which requires the application of accounting theory and practices. This role is for an individual contributor and directly reports to the Bank Reconciliations Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Review various cash account reconciliations including operating, depository, disbursements and special purpose accounts

  • Prepare and review end of month journal entries

  • Research and propose resolutions for cash related transactions to Supervisor

  • Provide guidance on handling cash related transactions to offshore team and field locations

  • Examines a variety of accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations and validate against third party support documentation

  • Ensures transactions are handled in accordance with applicable SOX controls, accounting standards and policies

  • Demonstrates or explains accounting practices and procedures as requested

  • Ensure all third party bank correspondences are archived, distributed and processed accordingly

  • Prepare monthly reconciliation review reports and supplemental schedules

  • Prepare and review Treasury cash management journal entries on monthly basis

  • Prepares support documentation for external and internal audit requests as needed

  • Maintain and build solid relationships with field locations and management

  • Assists with special projects as necessary

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline required

  • 5+ years of experience in an accountant role

  • 2-3 years of cash reconciliation experience preferred

  • Understanding of accounting principles

  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations

  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines

  • Ability to prepare and present reports and supporting documentation

  • Experience in special projects and process improvements preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

  • Experience with BlackLine and Oracle preferred

  • Experience with Access and SQL preferred

  • Experience with offshore personnel preferred

  • Ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in both written and oral communications
