UnitedHealth Group Behavioral Care Advocate Nights Weekends Telecommute in US in Houston, Texas

For this role you must have an active and unrestricted license in your state of residence and must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays 40 hours per week

The current available openings (10-hr shifts):

Thursday and Friday (5pm - 3:30am CST) and Saturday and Sunday (Noon - 10:30pm CST)

(or)

Saturday and Sunday (8am - 6:30pm CST) and Monday and Tuesday (5pm - 3:30am CST)

Training schedule will be Monday to Friday 3:00 PM CST to 11:30 PM CST for approximately 6 – 8 weeks depending on level of experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Field inbound calls in a queue from members and providers for purpose of assessment and triage

  • Focus on initial inpatient admission for psychiatric and chemical dependency patients

  • Make patient assessments and determining appropriate levels of care

  • Determine if additional clinical treatment sessions are needed

  • Manage inpatient mental health cases throughout the entire treatment plan

  • Administer benefits

  • Coordinate benefits and transitions between various areas of care

  • Identify ways to add value to treatment plans and consulting with facility staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Independent, Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling, or Licensed Ph.D., or an RN with 2+ years of experience in behavioral health

  • Licenses must be active and unrestricted in state of residence.

  • 2+ years post Masters or RN experience in a related mental health environment

  • Proficient Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays according to your schedule

  • Dedicated, distraction-free home work space with access to high speed internet

  • Must live in the state of Arizona or California unless you are an RN with at least 2 years of behavioral experience and have a compact state license

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Inpatient experience

  • Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse

  • Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients

Colorado Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $53,300 to $95,100 (add additional reference for sales and physicians).
