Position Overview:

SitusAMC, formerly RERC, is seeking a highly skilled professional for Appraisal & Consulting practices, located in Des Moines, Iowa. The position is for an Associate or Assistant Vice President, dependent upon the individual-s qualifications. This position would focus on completing commercial valuations on all major property types. SitusAMC-s appraisers get the opportunity to work on institutional properties located all across the U.S. In addition, this position would also include assisting with our national clients, which include some of the largest and most prominent financial institutions, pension funds and insurance companies in the U.S., and involves portfolio work. The position is open for our Des Moines, IA, Houston, TX, Boca Raton, FL offices, and also open to remote for the right candidate.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The role for this professional will be involved with performing valuations

  • Efficiently perform valuations with a future career path to lead a team of valuation professionals by providing guidance and quality control

  • Manage workflow to produce on time deliveries

  • Help execute portfolio valuations and large consulting engagements through implementation of organizational and technical skills

  • Communication/coordinate with market participants, clients, and co-workers

  • Review 3rd party reports for lenders and owners

  • Research property and market information

  • Inspect properties

  • Analyze subject and comparable data

  • Develop appraisal and consulting reports and other deliverables

  • Resolve non-compliant issues through verbal and written communication with client or other involved parties

  • Work independently on projects and also collaborate -face to face- as a team player

  • Other activities as may be assigned by your manager

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor-s degree or above - Preferred fields of study include Real Estate, Accounting, Finance

  • 3+ years of commercial appraisal experience

  • Certified General Real Property Appraiser License, or working towards

  • MAI designation is desirable, or if you are a candidate for MAI designation

  • Strong valuation expertise

  • Investment management and/or asset management experience would be a plus

  • Skills: MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word, Argus Enterprise

Special Requirements:

  • The employee may be required to report to a different local office as a normal, contemplated, and mandated incident of their employment.

  • When / if working remotely: (a) maintenance of a safe and professional home/work environment and (b) appropriate IT set-up including dual monitors and appropriate computer systems

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional use of office equipment (scanner, fax, printer)

  • Office environment with frequent computer use

  • Sitting for long periods of time

  • Hearing, talking, reaching, grasping, standing, and repetitive motions
