Designs and maintains networks (both LAN & WAN) connecting airborne and ground systems via terrestrial and BLOS (Beyond Line of Sight) circuits. Tests new/malfunctioning Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) network devices (switches/routers)
Performs system and subsystem design and integration
Technical risk assessments; technical planning; verification and validation; and supportability and effectiveness analyses of total systems throughout the system lifecycle.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept; design; fabrication; test; installation; operation; maintenance and disposal.
Performs functional analysis; timeline analysis; detail trade studies; requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Bachelor Degree with a minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Position requires an active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance and the ability to maintain the stated clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with SATCOM solutions/protocols is required.
Experience in Network and Systems Support/Installation, Cisco and Brocade IOS, DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP is highly desirable.
Experience with LAN/WAN routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) is highly desirable.
Experience with network packet inspection tools (WireShark, TCPDump) is highly desirable.
Experience with Linux, Solaris/Unix, and MS Windows OS is highly desirable.
Experience with multicast routing is desired.
Security+ Certification is desired (post-hire certification is a requirement).
Knowledge of MPLS and VPNs is also desired.
Experience with VoIP (h.323 and SIP) is desired.
Knowledge of ISDN/BRI and T1/E1 telephony is a plus.
Experience with HAIPE devices is also a plus.
Must be able to analyze requirements for and design networks that support development and modification of airborne ISR platforms and associated ground support systems.
Must be able to read and understand engineering/aero documents and drawings
