Distribution Engineer
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in our Ft. Worth, Texas office.
Roles and Responsibilities
The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designs
The ability to apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop the most complete and competent design
Perform quality reviews of project deliverables
Required Education/Experience
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably a BSEE, BSEET, BSCE, or BSME
Knowledge of the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)
Experience with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development
Familiarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, and utility best practices
Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Desired Education/Experience
A BSEE or BSEET degree, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option
Engineer in Training certificate (EIT)
Prior utility experience
Exposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, DDS, etc.
Exposure to Work Management programs such as STORMS and WMIS
Strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills
Travel should be expected
