Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Suggest and justify product directions within approved directions. Define responsibilities for new projects and specifies, designs and develops software according to those specifications. Provide consultative software guidance and strategic direction associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally. Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, techniques. Acts as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization*s long term objectives / strategy. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 10 more years of software engineering or related experience.

Big Data Architect

The Big Data Architect is responsible for driving thetechnical direction of the Big Data Portfolio of products, including Big DataCloud, Data Catalog and Serverless Spark. This role affords you stronginfluence over product strategy and technical direction. It is important thatas Architect you have broad visibility across the Big Data space, understandingof use-cases and usage patterns and how enterprises can use cloud resources toexecute on their big data strategy.

Architects work across teams to ensure correctness andexecution of established architecture and design. On a daily basis, you will draw on past experiences to solvecomplex challenges in pragmatic ways.

We use tools such as Java, Python, RESTful API, Docker, Kubernetesand more, in a DevOps, CI/CD, agile development environment. This is a major impact on Oracle s businessby transforming how Oracle s Big Data Platform is delivered for the enterprise.The best of open source including Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Tensorflow, Docker,Java and Python is used and improved for cloud adoption all in a DevOps-first,CI/CD agile development environment.

The DNA of the ideal candidate looks like

  • 8 years of software engineering and technicalleadership with proven results in architecting, designing, implementing andmaintaining complex systems and services

  • Expert in one or more of the technologies listedabove; familiarity and use of other listed technologies.

  • Proven track record of delivering andmaintaining a cloud service offering in the big data or related domain

  • Proficient in hyper-scaled distributed systemsand cloud implementations with proven track record in Performance, Scalabilityand Resiliency

  • Deep understanding of cloud design patterns

  • Comfortable in CI/CD and DevOps work styles

  • Experienced with SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes

  • Ability to mentor and coach engineering team

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, orequivalent
