Purpose for the Position: A Housekeeping Utility employee is responsible for meeting or exceeding guest expectations. Housekeepers play an integral role in the cleanliness, health and well-being of our guests. Skills, Abilities, and Job Functions: Use hands to lift, carry or pull objects that may be heavy. Understand simple instructions. Learn simple procedures and techniques. Perform routine work or the same task over and over again. Establishing a friendly relationship with all guests when in contact with them Listening to guest complaints and responding with empathy Moving and arranging furniture Turning and hanging draperies Dusting and polishing furniture and equipment Collecting soiled linens and storing linens in linen closet Cleaning bathrooms and replenishing supplies Stocking cleaning cart Removing debris Cleaning rooms and public areas Deep cleaning floors using appropriate equipment Washing walls, ceilings, and woodwork Washing windows, door panels and sills Emptying wastebaskets and ashtrays Transporting trash to disposal area Handling hazardous materials according to all appropriate procedures Performing other related duties as assigned Physical Demands: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or a 10 to 20 of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists up to 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
